Yes, I do stuff like that, too.

You know what would be cool? The Prelinger cable channel. 24 hours a day of the stuff available here. I'd watch that and Boomerang almost exclusively. Oh yeah, and Spongebob and the Daily Show. And Conan. And Dexter's Lab and The Shield and NYPD Blue, too. I'd watch the Prelinger channel a lot, okay?

Yes, I kind of have my own private Prelinger channel at home!!! I have a sort of "entertainment center computer" connected to my stereo and my TV, equipped with a sound card (for listening to MP3s and internet radio streams on my stereo), and--the most important part--a hardware MPEG decoder card with S-Video output (A RealMagic Hollywood+ to be specific), which allows me to watch the MPEGs from the Prelinger collection and others here in full-screen, full-motion, broadcast-quality (if it's a MPEG-2 file) glory, on my TV set!!! In fact, this is really the only way I watch the Prelinger films (and Computer Chronicles/Netcafe episodes). It just isn't the same on a computer monitor in a window... :)

I, too am getting a massive collection going. I think my way sounds easier. I just download them and burn them to CD's. With Nero I can burn VCD's, which are video CD's and they play on my DVD player. The DVD player is a $42 special from Walmart, so I assume they would play on any DVD player... and can be taken to anyone elses house that has a DVD player..
Just a thought.

The Prelinger Channel could be a natural home for MST3K reruns too, eh? Talk about making good with the material! :)
